Lars JOOOO...

Meet Lars a.k.a. Lars "Joooo" from The Vibe in Oslo, Norway

Hmm...this crazy motherfucker is one CRAZY motherfucker!!

Lars is hella' talented. He's a dope dancer and choreographer who has BIG dreams and I know he'll make it one day. He's so passionate about dance and for The Vibe. His personality; straight up him being himself. He's not afraid to say what he wants and he's HELLA' funny, too. He also has a dope girlfriend named Mira who's also a sick ass dancer but she doesn't think so. He's really nice, genuine and down-to-earth but dude can be GANGSTA' at times. Lars pretty much helped Fao open the Vibe and dedicated his life to it ever since. It just shows how loyal and committed he is. This guy grinds his ass off, too. He works like...2 jobs? Plus he trains, teaches and goes to school and still has time to help around The Vibe and travel half way around the world. He has the most comical "blank" look, ever. I find the 2 of us to be alike. Why? Well, WE'RE ALWAYS HUNGRY! Everyone just seems to love Lars for who he is and what he does.

Cheesiest Thing I Ever Wrote

Meet Melay a.k.a. Meals..

She's the best. Like...she's actually the best thing to happen to me. She LITERALLY changed my life before we even got together. I mean, she introduced me to DREAM which lead me to where I'm at now, I got to meet Jenn & Jon, I found my passion, I've found a second home and a second family and now I've found love and it's all because of her.

Who else takes a bottle to the face while trying to stop me from getting jumped by 30 thugs with meat cleavers and machetes?

Meals did.

I love her for that and for who she is. A goofball who's hella' talented and great at networking. Plus she's cute. She's a dope dancer. She's stylish. She's loyal. She's smart. She's responsible. She's charming. She's a great photographer. She's outgoing. She's passionate. She's popular. She's the best.

The night we made it official was the night she poured her heart out to me. I'm currently going through financial hardships so I wasn't ready at the time to commit myself to a relationship. I shut her down twice before and both times I felt guilty. I'd always leave her hanging after we talked about what was going on between us until I decided to really settle everything. She won me over that night. I let her know how I felt about her and what I was going through with my personal life and she did the same. But the one thing that made me decide that I wanted to be with her was when she told me that she'd be down for me. That she wants to help me overcome what I'm going through and that she'll do anything to make me happy.

She stole my heart.

Before we got together, I was always thinking about what it would be like if we DO get together. What would people say? How long would it last? I don't pay any mind to that anymore. I'm 4 years older than her which made it weird for me but when you have feelings for someone, it doesn't matter. I shave my face all the time just to look young for her! I always liked it when she was around me, it made me feel appreciated. I always thought it was cute when she tried to make me laugh when we're dancing. I'd always ignore her though. I never told anyone that I liked her. In FACT...I kinda' did the opposite, but whatever...

I'm just happy with where we're at now. The timing was great. She inspires me. Her talent, her passion, and all the shit she's gone through. She makes me laugh and smile and I try to do the same but I suck. She waited 2 years to be with me. I think it's worth it. I get mad at her cause I care. I make her jealous cause I think it's cute. I feel like I have to see her when she's in town cause she lives too far. I'll do whatever for her cause she'll do the same.

She's pretty cool, too.

I especially like how she doesn't want us to see each other too much. Why? So we have a healthier relationship. It makes us appreciate the time we spend together even more. It's more mature, especially with what we have. I'm happy and she's happy...let's not ruin it!

(I look UGZ in this picture.)

I remember the first time she told me she liked me. We were texting each other and I said "You're acting like I'm your boyfriend already" and she says "I guess it was a mistake for me to like you" and I was just like *Theron voice* OH, WHAT A BURN. And the first time I turned her down...I told her I liked someone else. HAH. And the second time...I was a jerk. I straight up said we can't be together with no explanation. And I absolutely LOVED how she didn't give up on me, otherwise we wouldn't be together. I love her for that.

So yeah, I love Melay.

Just a little.

I lied. I love her a lot.

Spotted!

One of my idols, Keone Madrid (with Mariel Martin), rockin' my iCanFeelTheVibe design for The Vibe.

BonusGFX, baby.

My Top 10, Once Again.
Again, in no particular order.

1. My Ex by Kevin Cossom ft. Rick Ross
The beat is ridiculous and KC has so much swag. Me and Darryl made choreo to this...hella' fun to do!

2. Rockin' That Thang - The Dream
Again, me and Darryl made choreo to this song 30 minutes before class. The turn out was dope, it's really fun to do.

3. Call It Off - Drake
Me and Elwin started a piece to this song...it's something really different from what I usually do. Hopefully I can post my choreo up one day and share with whoever the hell reads this, haha.

4. Hit It On The Road - The Dream
I can see Joe and Drew rippin' this track with their choreo. I showed it to Drew, he liked it.

5. Best I Ever Had - Drake
This song is played so much that it grew on to me. I'm gonna' get sick of it soon, I know it. But I like it right now.

6. Night & Day - Lloyd
Apparently Elwin and Chris Martin made a piece to this song...but...I just might do one, too, anyways. Sorry, dudes!

7. Make It Rain - Trey Songz
This song is so upbeat and happy, it reminds me of summer. Loves it.

8. Wanna' Be Good - Ryan Leslie
The Company used this song...genius.

9. You Rock My World - Michael Jackson
I almost forgot how amazing MJ was...I almost forgot how much I loved this song when it first came out. R.I.P. Michael Jackson, and thank you for getting me into dancing.

10. Fantasy - Timbaland presents Money
Yeah the artist name is strange but it is what it is. I remember hearing this song and thinking it was Amerie. Anyways, I first heard this in L.A. while taking Mike Franklins class at Millenium. It was my first time dancing "fierce" or feminine. Now when I listen to it...I think...control, manipulating the beat. I want to use this song for choreo and make something that's really "me".

That's all for today. Came back from a popping battle and was totally inspired. I blew it though, really disappointing. Oh well, I'll learn from it and move on. So yeah...peace out!

Top 10 As Of Now

So here's my current top 10 tracks (in no order):

1. Need U Bad by Jazmine Sullivan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHV5PyPiFjg

Never really payed attention to Jazmine Sullivan but after seeing Shaun's piece to the song, I've been obsessed with it ever since. Yeah I'm hella' groupie.

2. No Other Love by John Legend ft. Estelle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHwxigD9yLw

Sounds a lot like "Come Over" by Estelle but that's not why I like it. I love Legends voice. Me and Darryl made a piece to it, turned out pretty nice.

3. Geek To The Beat by Zion I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdy52kIR3ss

Love the beat, hate the intro. Been wanting to use this song for a piece.

4. Unusual You by Britney Spears
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqhsIESV_jc

They play this song at my work so I slowly got into it. I like the dark feeling to it. Don't know why though haha...

5. Breakdown by Wale
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0O7dhbSYm0

Beat is hype. Loves it.

6. Love Making 101 by Lloyd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI2OJS37aSM

Love this song and the whole mood of it. Wanted to make a piece to this, too but Dee beat me to it! Haha

6. Quicksand by Ryan leslie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7sQiQnrzgo

They also played this song at work but...for like a week? Never heard it again after...weird. I love this song, it's so upbeat and charming.

7. Help by Lloyd Banks ft. Keri Hilson
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwpO4au5MQU

Old song but I Love Banks' swag on this. Keri Hilson is dope on this.

8. Patiently Waiting by 50 Cent ft. Eminem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlMVSxFall0

Eminem kills his verse. Whenever I hear it, my creative fluids start flowing haha..

9. City Is Mine by Drake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTF8-Ehweic

Love Drake's voice. He's a sick writer, too. Never fails to impress me. Dude's Canadian, that's a plus haha...

10. Spaceship by Kanye West ft. GLC & Consequence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTjugAgCR6M

I freakin' LOVE Kanye. He's still my favourite rapper and artist out right now. But this song has been one of my favs for a very long time. I still love the music he puts out now, too. He's a real artist in my opinion. I noticed his evolution as an artist and how his music has grown from College Dropout to 808's & Heartbreak. Dude's not afraid to try new things and express what he feels. I can relate to a lot of his songs, too. Oh and I check his blog daily. I love his taste in music, fashion, girls, art, etc. He's one of my biggest inspirations.

Trying New Things

I'm trying a new method/process of making choreo........by not making any! I've been so into the whole "making choreo" game that I felt like I'm re-using shit over and over again because I'm always trying to make new pieces and I end up not liking it. As creative as I feel I am, sometimes I'm not and I fake it by doing something I've done before or going for a feeling that I've already incorporated in another routine I've made.

So what I've done is delete ALL my songs from my iPod and refilled it with rap music only. Not rap music with dope beats or even anything that's choreo worthy. But rap music that you can just listen to. Just sit there and enjoy it and not want to dance to it. I'm draining everything out because when I had R&B or any kind of dance song, I would freestyle or choreograph in my head. What I'm doing now is using these rap songs to pretty much think of new ways to interperate a move to a certain beat, word, song, etc. So far it feels like it's working.

I've been a HUGE hip-hop head before so I know what artists I like and such. I use to listen to only rap and not R&B which is almost opposite of what I do now haha. Now that I'm so into rap right now, it's so refreshing to hear R&B whenever I get a chance to. I just hope this new process helps me in the long run haha. Alright I'm done for the night, fred ut!

This Week Is Crazy

Sunday, we had rehearsals.
I came late and we stayed later, felt like we got a lot done.

Monday, we had the Master Class workshop.
Kolanie's class was dope again. His second time at DREAM and he taught another fun class. Glad he came back, loved his choreo and energy.
Stephane's class was pretty cool. His style is like Nick Wilson (plus he's tall and white, too). His musicality is unique in a way, I didn't expect it. Fun class overall.
Jayson's class...hella' tiring. Even though the movements were easy, it was all about how clean you danced it. His class was pretty much everything Jenn said about it. He teaches you how to dance clean. I was nervous at first, I thought he'd teach fast and call people out for their mistakes (which he did, just not personally). His choreo was somewhat simple, someone difficult, overall fun. I would love to train under him, he really seems to know what he's doing.
Shit, we also had rehearsals before and after the workshop...you can imagine how tired we were.

Tuesday, first day of Free Dance Week.
It was fun and a great way to start the "free week" off. Me and Joe started a piece to What It Is by Sophia Fresh and Andrew assisted us which was cool. It was hard to make choreo because we're used to making stuff hard and...I guess somewhat intricate with a lot of energy but this is Hip-Hop 1, it has to be easy. The choreo itself starts off hard but slows down at the end which I personally thought was cool. All the new faces pretty much got the choreo, I was impressed. Andrew will be continuing the piece next week (the crazy beats start to kick in from where me and Joe left off)
Deerawk taught next...his class was HARD! Really advanced and energetic. His musicality is on-point as usual. Pretty gangster class, I'm excited to learn the rest of it. I fluked like half the dance and ended up in select group. Yezzur! Always kill the parts you know, if you forget something, get back into and KILL the rest of it!

The rest of the week is gonna' be tiring. Fortunately (and unfortunately) I'm not working tomorrow (I need money though) so I get to sleep in. Have rehearsals and classes, too. Thursday is gonna' be hella' busy. Friday...should be chill. Saturday might be interesting. It's all rehearsals from there.

Whatever, I'm tired. Fred ut!

Make That My Top 11!

I downloaded this song called "Quickie" by Miguel last night. I gave it a listen today while waiting for my bus and my creativity just went off choreo wise; very slow, simple and Shaun Evaristo inspired. Not that I try to mimic his style or moves or anything but the song reminds me of Estelle on "Come Over" which Shaun taught at DREAM. I love how he captures the mood of the song so I'm inspired to do the same with this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIEHluhQJKw

Top 10 At The Moment

Here's a few songs I'm feeling right now (not in order).

1. Unstoppable - Kat DeLuna ft. Lil Wayne
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N959CL56uU
I'm excited to perform this song as an opener for an upcoming performance. It's so hard and in your face...like a blow job. HAH!

2. Quickly - John Legend ft. Brandy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjRyAVdg7kA
I started choreographing to this song. It's different, very slow and somewhat emotional.

3. If I - Justin Timberlake ft. T.I.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXqP1BMiy2g
Also choreographed to this song, pretty dope. T.I.'s verse is sick.

4. No Competition - Ben Jacobs ft. Lil Wayne
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGgjjagvSq0
Beat is insane...don't know or care about this Ben Jacobs dude though.

5. Supernatural - Ciara
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KcMvRbtNps
Choreographed to this with Darryl, pretty sick.

6. Click Click Click - New Kids On The Block
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pVTGHXnpMU
I want to use this song but Axel already killed it. That tall ass handsome motherfucker!

7. Out Of The Blue - Ryan Leslie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPwLXaGquOY
Beat's dope. I wanna' use this song some time.

8. Be My Vixen - Miguel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPt15Xebk4o
Jenn killed this song with her choreo...I love it.

9. Come Over - Estelle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY1czW5YbN0
I couldn't find the actual song on youtube so just watch Shaun Evaristo dance to it. Probably my favourite dance so far.

10. LTLP - edIT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tWbv_ffNfo
This song is so sick, it inspires me. There's so many different sounds to hit, it just sparks my creativity.

Yezzur

I haven't been using this at all. I just checked in today and noticed I have "followers" or something on here. Cool!

I don't know who's going to read this but whoever does might find out something interesting about me as I'm using this as an outlet to express what's on my mind.

Also, I'll be posting dance videos, graphic art, pictures, music, etc...anything that I think is dope at the moment, I'll throw it up on here. Be sure to check it out!

Anyways, I'm excited for the Master Class workshop with Jayson Wright, Kolanie Marks and Stephane Charbonneau on March 2nd. Kolanie's class is hella' fun and apparently Jayson teaches you how to dance clean. Never seen anything from Stephane so I don't know what to expect but at the same time, he said not to expect anything which I guess is a good thing.

Everyone seems to be going places...Anne moved to Montreal, Jenn partially lives in L.A., I went to Norway with Ian, Elwin & Jenn, Gerwyn went to L.A., Simonne went to San Francisco, Dom went to Spain, Melay is in Winnipeg, Min is um, moving houses...one of my best friends lives in Thailand...WTF?!

Speaking of going plcaes, I hella' miss The Vibe! They're all such good people with positive energy, and I'm one of those people who vibes off positivity. I'm excited for Lars, Siri, Bao and Santos to come...and whoever decides to tag along with them!
Ok that's enough for today. It's only 12pm-ish, got a long day of dancing ahead of me.
